Electronics laboratory testing soil sensors and telemetry boards

Precision agriculture requires accessible hardware. A collaborative team from Computer Science and Civil Engineering developed a LoRa-based soil telemetry probe that measures moisture, nitrogen levels, and salinity at variable depths.

Low-Power Architecture

Operating on a compact solar cell with lithium-iron-phosphate battery chemistry, each sensor node transmits packet telemetry up to 5 kilometers, bypassing the need for cellular data plans in remote agricultural plots.
